Gaming Machine Entitlements
Ten year gaming machine entitlements will be allocated via a competitive bidding process in early 2010. In order to participate in the competitive tender bidders will need to hold a venue operator licence
Venues that have a current licence under the existing structure will not need to re-apply for a licence
It is anticipated that the State will introduce a transfer scheme, however at present details of the scheme are not clear
In order to obtain and operate gaming machines in a particular venue, a venue operator will need to:
PAYMENT FOR ENTITLEMENTS
The proposed payment schedule for the cost of the entitlements is:

Due within 7 days of the entitlement allocation, ie early 2010 |
Second |

Due in 2012 before commencement of the new arrangements |

80% |
The balance of 80% is due in equal instalments each quarter for four years from commencement of the new arrangements. |
Forfeit provisions will apply where payments are not made by the due date
